Fort Festival is celebrated in the old medieval fort of the beautiful coastal town (sea village) of Tossa de Mar. The fort stands on a hill facing the Mediterranean Sea and offering splendid views. It forms part of the entire enclosed enclosure that was built in the Middle Ages as Defense against piracy. Declared National Artistic Historical Monument in 1931, it is the only example of medieval fortified population that still is conserved in the Catalan coast.

Located between the city of Barcelona and the French border, Tossa is an old fishing village with a great historical background, first converted into a medieval city, then a refuge for artists and intellectuals and, finally, a generous host of tourists and Visitors.
